Drive Through Clinic Guidance

GUIDANCE FOR THOSE ATTENDING OUR DRIVE THROUGH WINTER FLU CLINICS

We would ask that anyone attending our drive-through flu clinics note the following

  • Patients must have an appointment before attending
  • Please arrive at your allotted time to avoid congestion. Doing so will minimise traffic congestion which would be dangerous and disruptive to local residents and other drivers.
  • You may bring up to 3 of your family members eligible for a flu vaccine (usually a maximum of 4 people in one vehicle). But only if they have booked an appointment for the same time.
  • We kindly request that you wear a face mask to protect yourself and our staff.
  • Please wear clothing that will roll easily up and down your arm while in the car.
  • Patients must stay in the vehicle at all times.

Volunteers from our Patient Participation Group will help us direct traffic into and out of the drive-through clinic site.  A site plan is shown below:  Please be vigilant, follow the instructions of our traffic marshalls and clinicians and drive safely at all times.  By following these instructions, you will ensure your safety and that of the staff and volunteers.

What to expect at our Drive Through Clinics

Please refer to the Site Plan (Below).  You may download and print off a PDF copy of this Site Plan by following this link:>>

  • You will need to enter the clinic by slowly driving into the patient car park off Lake Road.
  • A traffic marshall will direct you to one of 3 queueing lanes, where a member of our admin team will ensure you are booked in and ask you to remove any clothing necessary to access your arm to administer the vaccine.
  • When it is your turn, you will be directed to a single lane where the clinician will be waiting to give you and any passengers your vaccine.
  • On reaching the clinician, you will be asked to stop the vehicle, put the handbrake on, wind down the windows, turn the engine off.
  • The vaccine will be given in the arm nearest the window. Please ensure you and any passengers are sat on the side that the vaccine will be administered. You will be asked to present a vaccination site (arm) through a window of the vehicle.
  • Once vaccinated, you will be directed along the one-way system to leave the car park to exit onto Newtown Road when the traffic marshal directs you to do so.

PATIENTS MUST STAY IN THE VEHICLE AT ALL TIMES.

Your patience and courtesy will be much appreciated.  The Cranborne Practice is working to ensure the safety of all patients, staff and volunteers.
