Family Planning and Contraception Services

Contraceptive services are free and confidential, including to people under 16 as long as they are mature enough to understand the information and decisions involved.  For advice on contraception please contact us to make an appointment with one of our practice nurses.

Maternity Care

Full antenatal care and postnatal care is provided by doctors and the community midwives. Please ask at reception for further details. Our health visitors also run antenatal and parent craft classes.  Follow this link for more information>>>

Mother, Baby and Child Care

Our baby clinics are being held at The Hub, Verwood on Thursdays from 10:00am – 11:30am. For advice and information please contact our health visitors on: 01929 557593.

Patients Under 16

Any young person, whatever age including those under 16, can consult any of the doctors or nurses in the strictest of confidence about any personal, emotional or sexual problem or worry.

Minor Surgery

We hold twice monthly minor surgery clinics at Lake Road Surgery, Verwood, undertaken by Julie Fullerton, our Advanced Nurse Specialist. Referrals can be made by GPs in the Practice.

Cervical Screening

All women and people with a cervix should be invited by letter if aged 25 to 64.  If you have been invited or if it has been more than 3 to 5 years since your last screening please contact us to make an appointment with a member of our Nursing or Health Care team.

An NHS chiropodist visits Cranborne and Verwood to treat eligible patients. Please contact us for further information or to book an appointment.

Private Service Request

Some services provided are not covered under our contract with the NHS and therefore attract charges. Examples include:

  • Medicals for pre-employment, sports and driving requirements (HGV, PSV etc.)
  • Insurance claim forms
  • Prescriptions for taking medication abroad
  • Private sick notes
  • Passport signing
  • Verification letters requested by patients

The fees charged are based on the British Medical Association (BMA) suggested scales and our reception staff will be happy to advise you about them along with appointment availability.

Complete a Request for Private Service form and one of our practice staff will contact you to book in a medical report appointment.
